A WORD FROM OUR PASTORS

**Please continue to check back as our response is ongoing.

Church Family,

Over the past few days Charles River Church pastors, staff, team leaders, and healthcare professionals have been discussing what the coming days and weeks look like for Charles River and the wider community that we serve. The first thing we want to remind you is that we do not need to be overwhelmed by our circumstances. Philippians 4:6-7 says "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

As of March 12th We are officially canceling our Sunday Gatherings and moving to an online format until further notice. This is due both to Boston Public Schools cancelling all non-essential gatherings, and our desire to serve our community through caution. Follow this link to our online Worship Gathering on Sunday at 10am. It will certainly be a unique environment, but let's do everything we can to prioritize this Gathering. My hope is that we can all stay engaged and on mission while using creativity in fostering meaningful community.

An advisory team has been assembled to provide professional wisdom regarding our ongoing response and how best to handle Connection Groups, small events, pastoral care, and when to resume in-person Worship Gatherings.

We are actually eager to see how God will use this situation. Please pray for Boston & beyond as leaders make critical decisions in the days ahead. Please pray for your church family. Let's pray it provides us with opportunities to share "the reason for the hope that we have" in the midst of chaos. Let's pray that the gathering limitations spark new expressions of "church" in Boston. Let's pray that it catalyzes creativity and new ways to serve people. Finally, please continue checking in on each other and seeking ways serve those who are most vulnerable. If you are in need of assistance we would sincerely ask you to make your need known to us. We are here to serve as we can.  info@thecharlesriverchurch.com | 617-435-7912
